Introducing the world’s best ocean scientists to our community in Ohio.
With the support of our partners, we are excited to be part of the movement to meaningfully connect ocean scientists to the greater Ohio community. Top-tier scientists, like Dr. Neil Hammerschlag (left) known for his groundbreaking shark research featured on Discovery Channel, have spoken to thousands of students within Stark County, OH about how Ohioans impact the ocean, how the ocean impacts Ohioans, and Ohioans' role in the ocean conservation movement.
In addition to providing excellent ocean content for our community, these ocean scientists also provide valuable hands-on educational opportunities for students in Ohio. Some students (including one of our interns!) continue to work remotely with these scientists by assisting with their research data analysis. This provides students with the ability to meaningfully contribute to the hard ocean sciences and find out what it's really like to be an ocean scientist.
